The International Ship and Port Facility Security code (ISPS) was initiated as a result of the September 11. attacks in 2001. New regulations to prevent acts of terrorism at sea were adopted comprise security measures both for ship and for port facilities.
Requirements for ships
In advance of calling at the Coastbase Terminal, the following information is required:
Information on the latest 10 ports of arrival
A copy of the ship’s "International Ship Security Certificate" (ISSC) on first call
The ship’s "Continous Synopsis Record” (CSR)
Passenger list
Crew list
In case of crew changes; list of new crew
List of visitors on board during the port stay
Detailed list of companies expected to deliver commodities and/or services during the ship’s stay
The CoastBase Terminal requires as minimum information on add. 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, 24 hours in advance by e-mail to: post@coastbase.no

Requirements for crew, who wishes to go ashore, must bring:
Shore pass issued/stamped by the ship’s agent or by Coastbase.
Personal identification documents with photo.
Declaration of Security (DoS) Completion of a DoS is required when:
The ship is operating at an other security level than the port facility or another ship it is interfacing with
There has been a security threat or a security incident involving the ship or involving the port facility applicable.
The ship has called at a port, which is not required to have and implement an approved Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP),
or the ship has conducted Ship to Ship transfers not required to have and implement an approved Ship Security Plan (SSP).
A ship requesting a DOS must, before calling at port, apply to CoastBase post@coastbase.no containing the necessary information/documentation in accordance with the foregoing.
